Sloe Gin Fizz9th January, 2017
The difference between a Tom Collins and a Gin Fizz can be summed up using the following simple rule: one is stirred, while the other is shaken. To put it even more simply: The Gin Fizz is a sour topped up with just a splash of soda water, while a lot more soda water is added to the Tom Collins to create a longer drink.
You can use any gin, but we absolutely love using Monkey 47’s Sloe Gin made with Hand-Picked Sloe Berries from the Black Forest for a special twist.
- 2 Shots (2oz or 50ml) Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Sloe Gin (or any gin)
- 1 Shot (1oz or 25ml) Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 Shot (1oz or 25ml) Sugar Syrup
- Soda water to top up
Add all of the ingredients except the soda water to the shaker, fill with ice cubes and shake vigorously for around 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass or over ice into a highball glass and top up with fresh soda water.
You can buy sugar syrup here;
Or make some at home yourself. Simply add equal parts sugar and water to a pan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Wait for it to cool and store in the fridge for upto a month!View All Posts
